Now, AB de Villiers has weighed in, expressing his dismay at the harsh criticism aimed at Kohli. During a conversation on Jio Cinema, De Villiers shared his thoughts on the situation, recalling his own experiences of playing with and against Kohli. He emphasized that criticism often brings out the best in Kohli and advised teammates to avoid provoking him. “I thought it was really unfair for a hero and role model like Virat to face so much criticism. Can Nail Color Indicate Cancer Risk? Study Reveals Key Insights

Image
A recent study suggests that a colored band (typically white or red) along the length of a nail might signal a risk of developing cancerous tumors in the skin, eyes, and kidneys. Researchers at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) have identified a benign nail abnormality called onychopapilloma. This condition manifests as a colored band, nail thickening under the color change, and thickening at the nail’s end. It could indicate a rare inherited disorder known as BAP1 tumour predisposition syndrome, which increases the likelihood of developing cancerous tumors. The study, published in the JAMA Dermatology journal, reveals that mutations in the BAP1 gene, which usually functions as a tumor suppressor, drive this syndrome. While BAP1 syndrome typically affects only one nail, the study found that about 88% of the 47 individuals with BAP1 syndrome from 35 families exhibited onychopapilloma tumors in multiple nails. “This finding is rarely seen in the general population. We believe t

Sunil Gavaskar Predicts One-Sided RCB vs RR IPL Eliminator, Says This Team "Will Walk All Over"

Image
In a high-stakes IPL 2024 Eliminator match today, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Ahmedabad. The winner will advance to face SunRisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on Friday, while the loser will be knocked out of the tournament. Despite being strong contenders a few weeks ago, the Rajasthan Royals now find themselves as underdogs, having lost four consecutive matches and having one game abandoned due to rain. In contrast, RCB has built significant momentum with six straight wins, making them a formidable opponent in the playoffs. Rajasthan Royals, the 2008 IPL champions, have struggled recently, with weaknesses in both their batting and bowling becoming apparent. The absence of Jos Buttler has significantly weakened their batting lineup, putting additional pressure on Yashasvi Jaiswal (348 runs), skipper Sanju Samson (504), and Riyan Parag (531) to deliver a strong performance. Former Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar anticipates a potentially one-s

How Can the Juvenile Board Issue Such an Order?" Fadnavis on Pune Porsche Crash

Image
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has vowed stringent action against the teenager responsible for a fatal car crash in Pune. The 17-year-old, driving a high-end Porsche, collided with a motorbike, resulting in the immediate deaths of two IT professionals. Fadnavis criticized the “lenient” punishment imposed by the Juvenile Justice Board, which required the teen to write a 300-word essay on accidents, work with the traffic police for 15 days, and undergo counselling for alcohol consumption. “How can the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Board give such an order?” he questioned. The incident occurred early Sunday in the Kalyani Nagar area when the allegedly intoxicated teenager, driving his father’s Porsche, struck and killed Ashwini and Aneesh. Witnesses reported that Ashwini was thrown 20 feet into the air, while Aneesh was propelled into a parked car. Fadnavis stated, “We have appealed to the district court against the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Board’s order. There is significant pu

US Reveals Iran Sought Help After Helicopter Crash Killing President Ebrahim Raisi

The United States announced on Monday that Iran, despite their longstanding enmity, sought assistance following a helicopter crash that resulted in the death of President Ebrahim Raisi. In a gesture of condolence, Washington expressed sympathy for the tragic event, even though it criticized Raisi for his past actions. The State Department revealed that Iran reached out for help after Raisi’s helicopter went down in foggy conditions on Sunday. The two countries, which have had no diplomatic ties since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, communicated through undisclosed channels regarding the crash. “We were asked by the Iranian government for assistance,” stated State Department spokesman Matthew Miller. “We indicated our willingness to assist, as we would with any government in such a situation.” However, logistical challenges ultimately prevented the US from providing help. Miller did not detail the communications but suggested Iran needed immediate assistance to locate the downed helicopter
